This is a problem I have across both FS and FI, but especially at FI (I am waiting for contracts end on FS so easier to wait).
I have a port worth £3459.
I can IS for £3131.12 and after commission that comes down to £3068.49 if my calculations are correct.
I want out, I want that in cash so that I can pull most out and trade below the market price.
But every time I go to sell, even when just market listing, I find an excuse not to sell. My whole port is based on dividends.
Help give me the inspiration to sell up!
Been thinking same thing. Everytime I go to do it I look through my port, but pretty much all players I think I can sell on the next big market spike. Think I've settled on that. But yes in meantime trying selling a few at market price to then try and buy cheaper during the commission free period. Im waiting fir Tuesday Qna with AC, any hints of div rise or bonus period will mean I buy more, then sell a lot of my port in the coming rise. Imagine selling Neymar or Trent now, then a div rise announcement happens!
Thats absolutely it on FI, the though of another bonus being announced just after I sell up. I think Tuesday q and a is going to be a waste of time, they won't be announcing anything new and will just answer questions on what is already in place
My girlfriend buys a top 10 each month = just leaves it - then every 6 months she puts everyone up for sale - once the port is clear, she buys top 10's again - rinse and repeat.
Takes about 3 weeks for everyone to sell, so depends on who you have.
She's been on platform for nearly a year - never traded a player and is 21% ROI......
Maybe just sink a bit in top end - take a time out that ties in with a few weeks before start on next seasons and see where you are.
Would you buy the same players Mr Wh1te or would you take out and buy other players for under market value?
I was thinking about starting a thread on here about whether the introduction of ME had changed peoples strategies - whether it is small tweaks, wholesale changes or nothing at all. Selling everything is quite drastic on the face of it but actually isn’t if you’re simply buying again for lower value.
also, it may be worth a thread on here for quick sales/profit when the time comes. I bought Chiesa on ME, market listed and took 6 days to sell at market value, 15p per share profit after commission. Not a huge amount but I’m still testing the water with that strategy to see how it pays off. Haaland on his dip was £8.01, he’s now 8.38. Bruno was 9.25, now 10.30 but can’t bring myself to list these two just yet. Haaland will be listed when he next scores, and I’ll look to do the same if it becomes a profitable strategy.
