    50/50 Challenge

I am going to set up a challenge and will start as soon as contract exchanges. Hopefully by end of month.

To save rushing in, I would like to use this thread to set rules and agree them now, for when we go live.

I am not precious, I need to know what you think will work, what won't work, what is possible with regards to tech (I have no tech experience and would need to set up a twitter account).

So, 50/50 challenge. £500 into FS. £500 into FI. See which I can make most money on. Aim for £3000 in total (to pay for my artifical lawn).

    Rules:

    FS

Raffle of all bonus players as it affects tracking of port.

Whatever port is, deposit up to £400 in total. Should be around £100 already as put in £100 and I want to keep it at £500 total, I wouldn't be comfortable with more at this point.

    Money split as follows:

£100 already in (penny stocks and keep buying)

    £100 on packs (1x £99 pack at 25% discount and 1x £25)

£100 on players bought specifically for tournaments. I have coupons, they can be used as part of challenge due to them being earned on the £100 already spent, and negate somewhat the lack of experience in FS compared to FI)

£100 in balance for penny stock building (aiming for 5000 cards and rewards on the way)

£100 in balance for buying/selling as things come up

This is just initial investment and subject to change once I have started.

    FI

Players bought in £100 blocks. This could be 5 x the same player or 5 different players. Trading as and when.

    Both

All rewards/wins/dividends count as profit and get reinvested.

Will add refer-a-friend links (or affiliate, will look into it) to my twitter page. Any of this made is included in profit as I wouldn't be getting it if it wasn't in the challenge.

I can't micro-post but would update totals every 3 days or so and also post any big wins/losses/buys/sells with a disclaimer when buying to avoid accusations of pumps.

I am thinking having a twitter account and getting followers for both and then link on twitter to forum. I would like to use this one but understand if it has to be the FS one. @Westy where would you stand on this? Having my refer a friend link would be potentially taking from you, but then it would drive traffic here. And is it possible to have a forum page (or other page) where people wouldn't have to login? Let me know your thoughts please

I think I would like to market myself as something like FI/FS Challenge Man, as I do a fair few challenges across many things such as poker, although those days are in the past. There are others doing FI challenges and FS challenges so splitting between both would be my USP and lead to new challenges.

    Suggestions and thoughts please guys

Another option to distribute the link actually could be a facebook page, open, that i post in, and send links of the posts to twitter

I like the rule parameters, seems fair.

There isn't a FS forum and the slack channel isn't suitable to keep a specific thread. So here or FI forum is defo best for all the updates and a link can be quickly fired to other platforms.

I look forward to reading the progress.

My brain is a bit frazzled at the moment, baby brain! I will read it again, but sounds good. Happy to host it on here with you, I can set it up as a new category on the main forum page, or just show a link to wherever you host it (e. g. Facebook)

If you affiliate with FS through the 'footpartners' banner on the trading checklist page, I think we'd both get a boost to our accounts. I think you'd be able to drop a link to this challenge (wherever you post it) into gambling groups, football groups etc with a mind to also advertising your sign up link. Facebook and Twitter are good fir that. Takes time and patience though.

Thank you, there is no rush, I won't be starting the challenge for at least a week, I am just trying to explore what is possible and what people would want to read about.

Enjoy these early days with the baby, they are over far too quickly!

I think I am going to use facebook as a group to hold it altogether. i think most people are on facebook and it is easier for me to track and use as i am used to it. i will put original set up post on a thread here, on FI forum, and on facebook and link all three on twitter, and then update twitter and facebook

I ahve spoken to my mortgage guy and i am good to spend, so its on :)

@Westy TY. When you are up and running properly we can maybe look at moving it here, I just didn't want to be a reason you weren't spending time with your new baby, so removed the issue :)
