Dunno if this will take off or not, but a few years ago I used to run a eBaller thread on the Football Manager forums - basically you created a footballer by way of name, position, country etc and then based on how many games they played you were given points to develop the player and see how they went on. I worked ok for a while but at the time FMRTE didn't freeze the stats so the game used to revert the players stats back to normal. If thid didn't make sense don't worry, all will make sense shortly.
Soooooooooooooooooooo because I am a bit of a stats freak and its slow at work at the moment, and for a bit of fun. Anyone fancy a blast at a Footy Manager Agent type game.
My idea is as follows - you pick a club in any league that is within Footy Manager and Europe and you pick a player - then based on how many games they play they gain points, you then as their agent virtually 'sit' down with the player and discuss how they are 'getting on', so you change their stats to how you want them - with the aim to produce a stable of the best players in the world.
Why do this - well, why not, not much football on at the moment.
How will it work? - Basically say 'im in', and I want to start in xxxx country and I will screen shot you a list of clubs you can have your first player from, ill then screen shot you the youth team and you pick a player and then I sim the game 3 months, look at what your player has done, and you then make changes to the stats 'thus they get better' and develop as a player - so your starting point is very important as you dont want a player 'stuck' playing youth and reserve football.
Example - Someone picks England and North Vanarama as they are the bottom tier of football and they then pick York - so I would then show them the list of the youth team....you would then pick a player....this would be your first player in your stable of players....in this example I have picked 16 year old Luke Jones - his player card looks like:

The game is simmed for 3 months and based on the number of games they play they gain points based on the rep of the competition they played in. So if the rep of youth football was 24 and he played 6 games, he would earn 144 points to spend,
You still with me here or you fell asleep?
How to change a stat? Easy if you wanted this kids Free Kick Taking to increase then he is 3 at the moment so you would spend 4 points to get him to 4, if you want to get him to 5, then you spend 4+5, so 9 in total, so to get him to 6 it would be 4+5+6 = 15.....got it? You might want to drop his Injury Proneness, so to get him to 11 it would be 11 points etc....etc....
You can also add you your player positions.
Season 1 you get 100% of the points given, then each season after is the total divided by the number of season. So imagine season 6 and hes earnt 500 points in a 3 month period, you would have 83 points to spend.
Sooooooooooooooooooo anyone wanna have a blast? People can join at any time - the aim is to have the most expensive group of players in the whole wide wooooooorld.
The best player of all agents for the year will get a brucie bonus of being able to pick a preferred move (59 in total) ooooor you can sabotage another agents player by picking a **** move (such as Likes to beat man repeatedly or dwells on the ball).
If you never played Football Manager then the above might get you thinking eh? Even if you know Football Manager you might think eh?
Anyone wanna have a go? If so, let me know the country you wanna start in and I will crack on and start it off. European leagues only. If you need a list of these then let me know and I will stick an image on.
Just running the game until end of season - should have an update tonight.
Done, and yes it did - neither player has any points left now - I will move the game world on until the end of the season now as we are coming towards the end of March and may as well push on to the end of the season and then review how the 'game' is going and any changes required.
sigh, i cant count. Can I take composure from 2 to 13 please, which I think leaves me 12, if it does, add 1 to flair
Thank you
lol, 100 points left - Finishing up to 20.
Lets keep it simple then please. I believe taking finishing from 13 to 20 = 219 points :)
You have changed the following:
Finishing to 13
Dribbling to 14
Pace to 16
Stamina to 13
Strength to 7
Strength to 15
Technique to 15
Positioning to 8
Below is original stats from start of season.
@MrWh1te:
1 U23 Premier League Cup 2nd Qual. Rnd game (34 points)
19 U18 Youth Alliance League South-West games (19 * 24 = 456 points), also scored 10 goals and set 1 up whilst picking up 2 Man of the Match awards.
2 U18 Youth Alliance Cup game (2 * 24 = 48 points) setting a goal up and walking away with the man of the match award.
4 U18 Division 3 South games (4 * 24 = 96 points) scoring 1 goal and setting up 1.
3 FA Youth Cup games (29 * 3 = 87 points) scoring 1 go and picking up 1 yellow card.
So including the points left over from the last update, you have 219 points to spend on your player.
My boy is as follows:
7 U23 Division 4 North-East (29 * 7 = 203 points) 3 yellow cards
14 U18 Youth Alliance League North-East (24 * 14 = 336 points), scored 1 goal and been booked 7 times and a sending off!
2 U18 Youth Alliance Cup game (24 * 2 = 48 points) with 1 yellow card
2 FA youth Cup game (29 * 2 = 58 points) and 2 assists.
I have 178 to spend on my player, and have decided to open his position options up and have gone with the following
Attacking Midfielder Right from 13 to 20
Midfielder Left from 10 to 14
Attacking Midfielder Left from 7 to 8
Been mega busy with work, moving the game world on a little - it seems that Pompy youths play 2 leagues within 1 season, the Youth Alliance League South-West season is over and now a Youth Alliance South season is starting and will end before my lads 1 season is over - so your going to get a mega boost with the number of games coming up.
Will have some points to spend soon!!!!
Thank you, Good luck!
@MrWh1te Got 4 points left mate - have moved the following
Strength from 7 to 15
Technique from 6 to 15
Positioning from 1 to 8
Right - we get to finish the season off - will either player be given a pro contract or will next season be make or break for them?
15 out of 20 Youth league games complete - and a steady away last 5 for the 2 lads.
@MrWh1te this is how your lad has gone on so far this season:
1 U23 Premier League Cup 2nd Qual. Rnd game (34 points)
15 U18 Youth Alliance League South-West games (24 * 15 = 360 points), also scored 8 goals and set 1 up whilst picking up 2 Man of the Match awards.
1 U18 Youth Alliance Cup game (24 points) setting a goal up and walking away with the man of the match award.
3 FA Youth Cup games (29 * 3 = 87 points) scoring 1 go and picking up 1 yellow card.
So including the points left over from the last update, you have 222 points to spend on your player.
My boy is as follows:
6 U23 Division 4 North-East (29 * 6 = 174 points) 3 yellow cards
9 U18 Youth Alliance League North-East (24 * 9 = 216 points), scored 1 goal and been booked 7 times and a sending off!
2 U18 Youth Alliance Cup game (24 * 2 = 48 points) with 1 yellow card
1 FA youth Cup game (29 points) and 2 assists.
Meaning 183 points to spend and I am going to spend them as follows:
Positioning up to 18 from 3
Composure up 6 to from 3
Finishing up to 3 from 2
And thats all mind done and dusted....over to you mate.
@MrWh1te - update done, we are now half way through the Youth seasons - and the careers of our 2 'ballers could not be any different!
Your sit down 'chat' about focusing on finishing and dribbling have had fans of the youth team talking. Your lad now in total has played:
1 U23 Premier League Cup 2nd Qual. Rnd game (34 points)
10 U18 Youth Alliance League South-West games (24 * 10 = 240 points), also scored 4 goals and set 1 up whilst picking up 2 Man of the Match awards.
1 U18 Youth Alliance Cup game (24 points) setting a goal up and walking away with the man of the match award.
All in all, during this sit down chat with your lad you have 144 points to spend.
I'm excited to see the direction you take this lad, as those first stat boosts have done wonders - it's a shame Pompy don't have a U23 league team or you would be doubling your points!
Meanwhile up North, my lad is a nutter - talk about anger issues, I'm now caught between a rock (your a nutter) and a hard place (developing other skills.)
4 U23 Division 4 North-East (29 * 4 = 116 points) 2 yellow cards
6 U18 Youth Alliance League North-East (24 * 6 = 144 points), scored 1 goal and been booked 5 times and a sending off!
1 U18 Youth Alliance Cup game (24 points)
130 points to spend on my lad.
Going to spend my points to try and get him to 'do something' as he isn't setting goals up, and I'm going to leave him 'for now' with a hot head. So crossing, its all about crossing this time.
Crossing was 8, so thats 117 points to take him to 17
Passing was 6, so move him to 7
Leadership was 5, so move that to 6 and thats my 130 points spent.
All done, hopefully get the next 5 youth games played. And yes you worked it out right.
If I got this right, I would like to move finishing to 13 and dribbling to 14 please
That should = 154
@MrWh1te so, a quarter of the youth season has gone and your player is doing good.
1 U23 Premier League Cup 2nd Qual. Rnd game (34 points)
5 U18 Youth Alliance League South-West games (24 * 5 = 120 points), also scored 3 goals and set 1 up.
So you have 154 points to spend on your player.
My lad has played the following:
2 U23 Division 4 North-East (29 * 2 = 58 points)
4 U18 Youth Alliance League North-East (24 * 4 = 96 points), scored 1 goal and been booked 2 times.
My lad has a total of 154 points too lol.
Gonna use mine on making him fast as fook!!!
So pace was 12, so 13+14+15+16+17+18+19+20 = 132 points to get him to as fast as he can - moved his pace to 20.
Acceleration was 13 so gonna move that to 14.
So 132+14 = 146 leaving me with 8 points...which I will use for first touch to move from 7 to 8.
So new stats that I have changed is
Pace to 20
Acceleration to 14
First Touch to 8
